Woo-haa! Due to some incredibly spiked traffic, (Thanks, Skool'd for the C.C.I. promotions! Once again, go check them outtt!) we felt like this would be a good time to take our new-found popularity and pass it on to some great accolades that we've grown extremely fond of -- Solo Co. + Purple Asteroid Cadillac. We're going for the double shot here.
Solo Co.'s bringin' some more heat that, and you're gonna shit your pants thoroughly enjoy what he's got in store. Check out this shirt (back), complete with a fresh P.A.C. logo and the growingly-famous Solo panda bear :
And to protect your eyes from busta's and style-biters everywhere :
Help out the partna's by pickin' up this limited edition merch! These have to be flyin' off the shelves -- rep your set!
Always gotta show love to these two affiliates. It seems like both are hitting extreme strides right now, and from one grassroots network to another, it's definitely time to unveil what both of these rising tides are up to these days.
First off, the Beauty Shop clan have unveiled their newest project, a collaborative CD featuring a slew of different local artists, including some familiar faces around here -- W. Travis, Dom Rabalais and Phil Rabalais, to mention a few. We're stoked to see exactly what else this effort entails, and as a genius add-on, they're rolling out the red carpet in a very glamour-style fashion. Catch that can't-miss event June 4 at the Sondheim Center(Fairfield, Iowa).
Confirmed artists include :

And when you're gearing up for any event, you've gotta' check out long-term accolade, Solo Clothing Co.'s newest collection of snapbacks.
The completely original designs of brainchild Gage Blanton come to life in a blazing blue-and-red combo, complete with the trademark 'SOLO' logo on the front. Swag surfin', for sure. For now, Solo Co.'s throwing in a righteous sticker pack with every snapback purchase, so get 'em while ya' can!
What's even more over-the-top? Big time representers, Purple Asteroid Cadillachave teamed up with Solo Co. for a mean, mean collaboration, including some out of this world merchandise. We'll let you know all about that team-up when the time comes.
We're gonna try and catch the P.A.C. at Gabe's (Iowa City) on April 13th, but we've got a stack of papers that need filing... in other words, we're busy as hell here, forming new ways to spread our word, come up with compelling material, produce some new tracks (hopefully for a soon-to-be-released album... not confirmed yet, however), as well as making a little bank on the side. We're no fan of ridiculous advertisements taking up your 'site, so we're workin' a little bit on the side to fund any and all of our upcoming projects... and probably a Solo hat or two.
Keep it locked at the Industry -- we'll start slowly unveiling our newest creations, but with very limited promotion, so the only way you'll snag the freshest of original C.C.I. material is to keep checkin' in. Until then, have a good night. Early to bed, semi-early to rise, as they say.
First off, March has already been declared our biggest month yet, which means we've gotta figure out some way to pass that on to you...y'know, gift-wise. Some .mp3 action? Baller. Maybe we'll break out the ol' production equipment and make an exclusive track for all of our (even more!) loyal following. You will be the first to know, without a doubt.
Second, due to their growing following, Purple Asteroid Cadillac have finally risen up and taken the title of 'most popular featured artist', narrowly defeating long-time champs, The Olympics. Actually, I know of a little link that can get you some free P.A.C. jams; all courtesies going to ReverbNation and Fooch.
Finally, the biggest dynamic brother-duo since the Morris twins(Rock, chalk, Jayhawk!), Utopia Park, have just dropped their latest self-titled release(click!) fresh out of a spring mini-tour. Check out their C.C.I.-approved tour-blog, as well as their amateur space program, and their quest to catch the elusive Rumsfeld-lizard.
To Triptonikhan and the P.A.C crew : we see ya'. Expect some major news in the near future regarding two of C.C.I.'s featured artists, as well as some track proofreading y'all need to do - I'll bump some links later, so we all can jam together to some of the latest mixtape submissions, courtesy of SoundCloud. Until then, take it easy, everybody. Be sure to get your full eight! Work starts bright and early tomorrow. C.C.I. XxXxX
What's up, crew? Just got the day kicked off after yesterday's gig at the Beauty Shop -- an epic throwdown between Ill & Natti, Imperfekt and Colorless, Coolzey, and of course, that P.A.C. clique.
Solid night -- met a couple of nice peeps, got the word out about C.C.I., and had ourselves a nice little hip-hop of an evening. Good to see we've still got a nice scene around here.
With all of that energy out and about, today feels much more like a Sunday than a Saturday, but y'know how we do.
Big things coming from our 420chan.org fanbase -- we've got an overflow of mixtape submissions, ranging from every genre, and our traffic has seen a bigger spike than norm', so that's definitely something we'll be taking in to consideration.
Abigail Frerichs, one of our absolutely favorite featured artists, has a show today! Click here for all the official details. Hopefully we'll get her down here to our territory for a Beauty Shop showcase in the near-future. (Look to ze right, find her photo, click on it, and that'll take you to one of our first musical highlights in CCI history.)
Utopia Park Bro's + Dan Deacon tonight in Iowa City! Should be absolutely electric, and I really hope that a yearly Deacon/Utopia show is a continued tradition. Can't make it this year, but they've got the support goin'.

Def Jam showcases, the freshest material, and now : a slew of shows -- a gaggle of gigs, if you will. Yeah, I'm done, but you know who isn't? The entire P.A.C. crew, who are now slated for a nice chunk of February shows all across SE Iowa.
Y'all know these guys from our numerous posts about 'em. They're pretty popular around these parts, you might say. Guitarist Jason Burkhardt's a long-time homie of mine. Fooch is absolute fire as an MC, and he's got some equally as talented and dynamic connections that are scattered around my iTunes : check out his homie, Cayex Illah, who's contributions with Fooch on his (very) early material helped pave the way for the sound of now.
Big Z, the drum whiz, is a pretty slick dude as well - he's got some traveling under his belt, but he's been wanderin' these parts for a minute or so now, and SHZA's always down to rep C.C.I. via Facebook, so it really does seem fair that these guys garner a lot of attention here.
You can peep these (now official!) concert dates here -- and be sure to catch them at their first stop, The Beauty Shop, on the 11th. Always big things for the Purple Asteroid Cadillac clique.
--
Be sure to catch Captain's Quarters on 100.1 KRUU FM every Thursday from 5-6 P.M. Today, I'm sneaking in an original, unofficial release - and we've got Tama Eagleson in the studio, slated for a half-hour spot, so it's gonna be some good radio... something that's ... well, yeah, almost extinct.
We'll catch ya' tomorrow. We've got so many papers and over-due reports piling up, so we gotta get crackin'. Like I said yesterday, February should be a really good month for us.
Gonna be in the Santa Cruz area this Valentine's Day? Then you gotta check out our new favorite groundbreaking electronic artist - Triptonikhan. Performing at the Blue Lagoon, Trip's been killin' it here at the Industry, with his spaz-stylings blazing through our speakers on a very regular basis. We've got official word that Triptonikhan will be dropping a brand new album on Valentine's Day, and you know we'll be one of the first to let you know. Keep an eye out for this dude, and if you haven't checked our debut article on this project, you can find that right here.
Also, Captain Captain Industries juggernauts, the Purple Asteroid Cadillac crew, have a gig or four coming up in the near future -- including a February 25th showing at the Yacht Club in Iowa City. We'll getcha' some more details as they arrive, but for now, you can peep their ReverbNation page, where you can bump all of their latest and greatest tracks before what looks like a nice mini-tour in the future.
We're in the process of getting more exclusive C.C.I. artists lined up -- including a very digital video game themed album that'll keep you on your toes for a bit, as well as some genre-bending riffs by our new FaceBook friend, Tomas Roman.
Until then, I'm headin' off. We got work bright n' early tomorrow -- and I gotta have time to scrape that windshield in the morning.
Here's a quick follow-up on our most recent Purple Asteroid Cadillac article. -- You can now find their WWS Mag spot here. This thing's even loaded with an official free download! Big things poppin' for the P.A.C. crew these days, no doubt about it.
The Sweat Power Festival officially kicked off yesterday-- Day 2 is tonight @ The Beauty Shop, Thug Estates, and Top of the Rock. Ballin' outrageous for Dom's 21st birthday/birthday weekend combo.
And I'll take Chicago, New England, Atlanta, and Baltimore. :) We're goin' 7-1 this weekend!
That's all for now. Big shout-outs to our growing /m/ and /mu/ fanbase. Also, a smaller, but still respected shout-out to /sp/ - we're growin' on ya'. I can tell.
What up, everyone? Well, two weeks into 2011, and we finally get a reasonable amount of snow here @ The Industry, complimenting how cold it was to see Oregon lose on the national stage by a chip-shot field goal. Whatev's. The Ducks will be back next season. You'll see!
In other news, Fooch confirms via FaceBook that the Purple Asteroid Cadillac will be featured in WWS Mag this evening, and their packin' an interview! Also, this Saturday at 1:30 P.M., the Marvell Gable Show will be counting down their top twenty-five indie artists of 2010, and the P.A.C. made the cut -- catch the MGS and the Purple Asteroid Cadillac on WGCR's official website to see where they place. Big upcoming year for Fooch and the whole P.A.C. crew, as 2010 last saw them perform at a Def Jam showcase in Ohio.
Lane Weaver also confirms up to three tracks for the soon-to-be-arranged Captain Captain Industries Official Mixtape : Vol. I. We're super stoked to release that. Now I bet you all are too.
Our new demo's going over nicely, as we had a pretty nice crowd peepin' C.C.I. yesterday, and I assumed at least one or two people picked it up. Like I said though, it's completely a demo. Not sure if that'll even make the cut for our own compilation, but y'know... I may change my mind.
A'ight y'all -- that just about does it for us this afternoon. Subscribe! 'Like' us on FB! Promooootion!
What're the Purple Asteroid Cadillac crew doing in Cincinnati? Probably decimating Hampton motels or ruthlessly slapping fools in the face. Maybe they're attending one of Cincy's awful sporting franchises? Nah, you and I both know that's not the case. You couldn't pay me enough to attend a Bengals (2-11) game. So, what are these guys doing in the Drew Carey State of Ohio?
Actually, in all seriousness, they're in Cincinnati, staring down the barrel of what could easily be considered their biggest potential break to date -- Purple Asteroid Cadillac are scheduled for a slot in front of Lenny S., VP A&R of Def Jam Records.
After demonstrating their ferocious flow, an enthralled Lenny claimed the P.A.C. as being the premiere future sound of hip-hop, and that their signature live-band / hip-hop collaboration was exactly the direction that the industry was moving. Pretty good for a man deemed 'emotionless' in terms of finding new music. Their competition (or lack-there-of)? A vast number of cliche MC's rhyming over their own records, using that ancient, unfresh formula to get some recognition.
Lenny made specific remarks about each of the performed songs -- all very positive, and went on to say that "Shine On", one of the P.A.C.'s most notable singles, was "very radio friendly". Fooch got the lyrical recognition from a big industry leader that he's deserved for quite a while, so even if Def Jam doesn't sign them, the word's out about the P.A.C., and it's only a matter of minutes, hours, and days until we see 'em get picked up by a Roc-A-Fella, or a Definitive Jux or somethin' big, y'know?
We'll see the Purple Asteroid Cadillac hit the studio soon for more tracks for Def Jam, and of course, for all the fans on Captain Captain Industries. Until then though, you've just received your dose of Purp' for the day; Hit 'em up at that new, crispy website, which you can find right here.
Be sure to catch the new Captain Captain Industries updates, up-coming interviews, album reviews/releases and so much more -- and be sure to catch the Purp' when they come to your city. I gotta go calculate exactly how many views we received yesterday (a shitload quite a bit).
-- I know y'all aren't still reading this! Go check out that video AND their website, and send the P.A.C. some love. --
Chicago is known for quite a few things. The pinnacle of the Michael Jordan era, Mr. Man of the Hour - Kanye West, the authenticity of WrigleyField, the infamous Super Bowl Shuffle, President Barack Obama, and of course Ditka's.
Hold up a minute now. We gotta add one more to the list --
Ladies and gent's -- Captain Captain Industries Presents : Local Midwest hip-hop pioneer, Fooch(a.k.a. - Nick Stylz)
Fooch represents not only Chicago (as well as Southeastern Iowa hip-hop), but he also rep's the up-and-comers from Brainiac Society. In between chillin' with Kidz in the Hall and catching his breath between various Purple Asteroid Cadillac gigs, he's found time to team up with DJ Logikal to bring you what may be the Mixtape of the Month. Plus, he's a damn nice dude. Don't pass this one up. You'd regret it.
Be sure to click the 'download' link nearest the bottom -- otherwise, you get an unwanted 'Download Manager' that's mildly confusing and slow.
While I'm at it, hit up Fooch, SHZA, Zach, and the Captain's long-time compadre, Jason, over at Purple Asteroid Cadillac's Reverb Page.
Straight outta the bio, y'all -
"Purple Asteroid Cadillac, [or simply THA P.A.C.] combine live instruments with the flyest emcee in the state to create a sound that is completely new and finds influence in every genre.
Fooch is part of the Brainiac Society and has been an emcee for a number of years. SHZA[I laughed when I first read the name. At least ya' know the bass player listens to the staples. Wu-Tang is here forevaaa'!] studied jazz and blues in college. The two decided to combine elements and form a band. Jason was discovered playing guitar in a coffee shop and with his background and resources, quickly agreed to join. Zack moved to the area from Seattle and has played with several touring bands, but joined after finding this project was the first truly original group he has found.
In P.A.C.'s first show, they attracted a large crowd that danced and cheered, begging for the band to play more songs."
- Purple Asteroid Cadillac's Biography on ReverbNation.
Can't touch that, huh? Finally good to get a post on here about the P.A.C. They could arguably be one of my favorite groups around this place. Take a listen for yourself -- they've developed quite the following. Plus, the P.A.C. merch is (pun intended) outta this world.
Figured you all needed your daily dose of hip-hop. Now go snatch that mixtape!
Oh man! I get home from another tiring day at the Industry, runnin' on 3-4 hours of sleep, and I see this little gem poppin' up left and right. Gives me some hope for our local town swagger.
Final verdict? He says it himself -- "Lane Weaver : Synonymous with dopeness".
All you cats with eagle eyes, peep this video at around 1:49. Yeah boy; that's some Fooch right thar'. Look for his material (as well as his absolute ballin' crew, Purple Asteroid Cadillac) to pop up soon enough on Captain Captain Industries. I just need to get some time to do them some blog-justice.
Anyways, I'm sweatin'. Just got done testin' out the new leopard-print bike around ze loop trail. I'll see you at work tomorrow.
