No it doesn't. It is perfectly noted and not ambiguous at all. Feel free to ask any teacher, what do you think is missing from the equation? Btw, what are basing your 100% figure on? Have u asked even one?
(48/2)(9+3) would be straight forward. The way the formula was originally typed lends interpretation as:
48/
2(9+3)
Why would someone choose to group one set with parentheses and not another unless they were being intentionally ambiguous?
Did you call your elementary school teacher? I didn't. They taught me well enough the first time.

A lot of the science practices used now days an that will be used in the future starts being used for something it was not designed for,or better yet not "though of" (minoxidil was created for hypertension, not treatment of hair loss, Botox was used for treatment of facial spasms not make you look younger, The internet was created for research development by the government, and the list goes on and on). It is the nature of science and technology to evolve. Like it or not (I sure don't), just like Napster, Geo-location technology used for finding out even more information about you is here to stay one way or another.
Man up people! how we implement the "new" use of any technology without crossing and protecting personal rights is where we should be concentrating on (promoting solutions and protection laws). It is waste time arguing (through news articles and political speeches) defending the mere existence of something that is not going anywhere.
This is what I posted in the CNET article http://news.cnet.com/8301-27080_3-20056540-245.html#ixzz1KYPyyi19

I dont think so, Amazon cannot get the app needed for the streaming/storing of content on your phone or tablet approved in the appstore since. It violates apples terms, if you or anyone else has an issue with it, contact apple.
Amazon Cloud storage app on android scans you sd/local storage for music then allows you to upload it into the cloud. Apple for one wont let another mp3 store on its phones and for 2, apple wont let that service scan for music.
So why is the website blocking access?
That being said, I hope Apple's preview of the future of iOS gets done with all the restrictions after all. Fighting with companies who want to build on your platform is not gonna lead them anywhere.

I notice I'm not mentioned in DP's post. :)
I have some questions to the masters or whoever.
What do the AP POINTS have to do with this game? It seems like only HP matters.
You wrote HP subtraction would be determined at random. Are you saying one person could get all the points in your example in the OP.

That's great that it installs a partition.
So my warranty is out and I want to install a brand new SSD.
I've upgraded only about a dozen friends' MacBooks to SSD and w/o the grey disc that came with the computer you're screwed. Retail copy won't work.
again, I'm completely fine with having any app in the world as download only. Great, it's faster.
Some never do a full reinstall, that's the majority, but you do still have those that work on these machines and some times you need the physical media.

1) Make it anodized aluminum black and 2) allow enough room for me to stuff in a AV receiver, BlueRay, Apple TV and put all the ports on the back (side).

Realistically we're only gonna get Leopard preview (lots of it) and they'll be previewed using the new MacPros sporting woodcrest processors. We'll also get new Cinema Displays probably a new 40" version as well....powered by some SLI type graphics
MAYBE we'll see the MacBook Pros/iMac get the Core 2 Duos as well although i think these will be silently released at the end of August or we see the MacBooks sporting 2.0Ghz core duos as standard with the 15" MBP coming with 2.16 Ghz as standard and the 17" moving up to 2.33 GHz. That is it, no iPods, no iPhones. Those will happen in Apple expo and MWSF respectively.

The question of units is not really relevant if you are not in a science/engineering field.
I am an engineering student in Canada. We solve problems in both units. But mostly we stick to SI.
The imperial system is, quite honestly, a complete mess. Most of the time, we solve the problems in SI and then convert the results to metric.
Most professors do not bother to ask questions in imperial. Solving the problem is 1000 times harder than the conversion between units.
Sure, people who already have a feel for the imperial units will prefer imperial. But if they had grown up with metric, they would prefer that.

The company that really deserves criticism is intuit. They recently released quicken 2007 and it was not UB. They were releasing a new product and they chose to ignore intel Mac users. Makes you wonder if they are going to stay in the mac market at all. Maybe in the future they will just recommend running parallel and windows, to use quicken on an intel mac.
Users are already moving away from the Mac versions. When Intuit announced they were here to stay in 2003 there was a lot of criticism about how they left Mac users stranded for six years. Look who is abandoning who now. If they were to close up Mac development, few would care. I'm betting they will be just one of many companies to do it too.

People don't seem to understand what manufacturing capacity means. Probably because a lot of the people on Mac Rumors don't know how to think with their heads. Apple secured most of the manufacuring capacity of the plants because they are having problems FILLING THEIR OWN ORDERS. This has nothing to do with monopoly cr@p and everything to do with a smart business move of a trailblazer. Only the followers are being burned by this because thy are trying to make the '3rd party iPads'. Not make their own product.

Except that under NetFlix, theortically (and I know people do this) you could get the DVDs, rip them, and send them back same day. Under a d/l scheme, you can only view the movies with a license. You only get, say 3 licenses. So you'd have to physically watch the movie, if you wanted to see it, before getting more. That would act as a brake on how many d/ls an avg. customer would make a month because most people only have time to watch 2-5 DVDs a month...if that. As for those who abuse the system, nothing to stop Apple from cutting people off just like Netflix does.
Even if you rip the DVD's from netflix (or just watch them immediately and send them back), you're still limited by the speed of the post office. With unlimited downloads, you could watch three or four movies a day if you had time (I doubt most Netflix users are only watching 2-5 DVD's a month, if they do they might be better off renting normally). The "brake" allows much fewer with Netflix. And if you really promise "unlimited", watching a ton isn't really abusing the system, is it? Apple would have to either have a monthly cap or raise prices.
Not to add onto the whining about merom notebooks, but I thought people a little while back were saying they'd be coming on the apple event on the 12th...
That was before the invites were sent. They won't be at the event, but they'll show up in the next week or so.

I don't know why but my MBP 13 i7 2011 is showing "Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB graphics" on the About this mac screen on Display tab.
BTW I'm using an External Display.
That's the graphic core onboard the Core i7 die. It doesn't change to ATi graphics when you use something graphically intensive? It is the 13" Macbook Pro. It only has Intel HD graphics.

What if you have or want to re-format your Mac? I hope Apple would also give you a utility that will package the OS into a bootable installer that you can copy to a USB flash drive. Or maybe that is what you would be downloading, just an image to be copied to a DVD/USB drive as I doubt you could install the OS like an app would (download, pop up in the dock, done).
I guess we will see how things go when Apple release it.

Besides, most mock-ups here show a rather enhanced iPod, than a REAL tablet...so this means most people want/need only a grown-up PDA, instead of a tablet as such...and I couldn't agree more.
How do you define a REAL tablet?
How do you define a REAL tablet?

Anyone waiting for MBP Merom should be prepared to wait until November/December.
This better not be the case. There is NO way I'm waiting untill then for a MacBook Pro. I don't think apple will wait that long, I think WWDC is likely, and if not I would say at Paris.

America is getting bent over and the dummies in the Tea Party are championing for their own destruction. Here is a link to the story about the Real Housewives of Wall Street.
http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/the-real-housewives-of-wall-street-look-whos-cashing-in-on-the-bailout-20110411
I strongly recommend people do whatever they can to watch the Documentary Inside Job.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1645089/
It's red face enraging to see how much money was pocketed by rich *******s in this country while working americans were losing their homes.
Read that a bit earlier. Taibbi is just about the only journalist reporting on this. How sad.

I just checked my current desktop pictures folder. The images are 2560x1600, and they're only about 1 mb each. So it's really not much more of a leap to get to 3200.

We should also cut spending across the board. Cut spending on EVERYTHING.
Repeating myself ...
I find this approach highly irrational. If you're overweight, it's important to lose fat. It does no good whatsoever to treat brain the same as fat ... to treat vital organs the same as fat ... to treat limbs and digits the same as fat.

It is not necessary it is not better, although I know some of you think anytime has anything with a bigger number in it you think Apple needs to follow. That is not how they work. They make whole devices, they don't just compile disparate parts with no real rhyme or reason.
But if it would have gotten the 4" screen it would have been just right, right? I love this "if Apple does something, it is great and if they don't, it's not needed anyway" - regardless of what it is... Haters gonna hate, but maniacs are blind.

Wining Switchers should be Apple's goal now.
Agreed. So that means...
Leopard - seemless Windows intergration...
Target the multimedia computer market with those wanting their HDTVs and iPods to connect to their new Mac. Make the mac part of the furniture and easy to operate.
Geek switchers. Along with Leopard / Windows, they will want decent gaming punch which means a Mac Box with pro features like replacable graphics cards but still price competative. I see a low/min Mac Pro. Could be the same machine or a variation of the multimedia one. That way 2 birds one stone.
Keep innovating. New tech stuff early. 802.11n. iPhones. Touch screens (without touch) etc.

Exactly what I was thinking. Although glass sizes differ across states in Australia as well. Here in WA if i go for a pub I'll either ask for a pint (a big glass) or a middi, handle, pot etc (small glass) or a schooner (tall glass slightly smaller then a pint) although never have asked for a schooner and see no need.
I've been to WA a couple of times… Had fish and chips with friends on the docks at Freo… all very nice! But I nearly fell over when they handed me the beers and told me the price. Don't ask me if it came in a pint or a schooner though. All I remember was it was expensive and I didn't even enjoy it. It was Redback I think — made with wheat, and not my cup of tea.
What were we talking about again?

This does sound logical to me, its a combination of the lines and i am sure would make it convenient for sound and media pro's whom also have other rack equipment like massive disk arrays and audio equipment(them hings with blinkie lights in sound studios :P ).
