Lil Wayne Avoids Another Tax Lien

Last June, the IRS filed a one-point-two-million-dollar tax lien against the rap superstar in Dade County, Florida Circuit Court for taxes owed from the years 2004, 2005, and 2007. According to AllHipHop.com, Weezy took care of the debt back in December by paying the bill in full. This isn’t the first time that Lil Wayne has faced tax problems. He also had a lien filed against him in 2008. The rapper took care of the issue in a matter of months by paying more than 977-thousand-dollars in back taxes. Lil Wayne is all squared away with Uncle Sam...for now anyway. Weezy is currently working on his upcoming album, “Tha Carter Four,” due in stores later this year. He’s also set to kick off a North American tour on March 18th with a show in Buffalo, New York.

Nas Has IRS Woes, He Owes $6 Million

Nassir Jones owes Uncle Sam over $6 million in property taxes to the IRS. The rapper owns a property in Eagles Landing, GA, which has racked up the huge financial burden according to the Detroit News. The rapper recently had child and spousal support to ex-wife Kelis cut to $25,000 from $51,000. Nas has had previous issues with the IRS and has had a number of liens filed. Nas recently announced a new tour with Distant Relatives collaborator Damian Marley, that will see the pair  travel to 11 countries. He better hope this tour brings in some serious dough because he got people to pay. SMH

Swizz Beatz Owes The IRS

Swizz Beatz owes more than $2.6 million in delinquent taxes, according to a lien that the IRS filed last week in an attempt to cash in on a number of unpaid taxes. The most recent filing against Swizz, whose real name is Kasseem Dean, was made last Monday with the New York City Register, claiming that he owes $283,562 in unpaid taxes. Of the six outstanding amounts that Swizz owes, he is yet to make good on the $842,645 lien against both him and his ex-wife Mashonda for taxes in 2006. Additionally, Swizzy owes $556,986 from a lien filed in August 2008 in Rockland County; $162,300 from February 2009 with the New York County Clerk; $652,727 from June 2010 in Rockland County; and $134,738 in October 2010 with the New York County Clerk. His lawyer stated "We have been discussing the issue with the government for years and are currently negotiating an amicable resolution of the dispute." Hopefully Alicia can teach this fool how to better maintain his finances and pay his damn bills or the IRS will be coming after her for the loot.

Nicole Murphy Blows $15 Million And Owes The IRS

Eddie Murphy’s ex-wife Nicole, who is currently engaged to former footballer Michael Strahan,  has burned through her $15 million divorce settlement. The NY Post reports the IRS has filed two liens against her for $210,957 and $3,731. She has also put her house up for sale for about $7 million. According to the National Enquirer:

“Nicole made some bad investments with the fortune she got from Eddie, and now she is in serious financial straits,” said a friend of the 42-year-old stunner.
Court records show that the IRS slapped Nicole with two liens for back taxes in November totaling $214,688.
That huge bill was on top of outstanding judgments against her for nearly $600,000 by a legal firm and another $60,000 demand for payment by a landscaping company. She also owes $5 million on her Los Angeles-area home.
“Nicole is overwhelmed by the mountain of debt she has piled up,” added the source. Nicole, who has five children with Eddie, invested in an Internet jewelry business, but the venture quickly failed and Nicole lost most of her money.” – Source

Seriously though, folks need to stop living beyond their means. Nicole may just be up a creek if Michael chooses not to assist her with her debt. 

Kelly Rowland Hit With Tax Lien

Kelly Rowland has been hit with a tax lien by the IRS. She is delinquent on her federal taxes. The Detroit News reports the IRS filed a $98,634 lien against Kelly on Nov. 8 with the New York City Register. This is really unfortunate for her, the poor thing can't catch a break.
