This Guy Is Joking Right?

I saw this on Yahoo! Dirty Tackle (a lot of Yahoo plugs today) and thought there is no way this actually happened. This is what you think it is, a Michael Jackson statue outside of a soccer stadium. Who knew that MJ is such an English Premier League fan?   I am sure many like me thought this was a bad April Fools joke. But nope, here is owner Mohammed Al Fayed defended his decision to the AP.

Why is it bizarre?" he said. "Football fans love it. If some stupid fans don't understand and  appreciate such a gift, they can go to hell.

"I don't want them to be fans. If they don't understand and don't believe in things I believe in, they can go to Chelsea, they can go to anywhere else."

 So if I think the owner is wrong, I cannot be a fan of their team?  Logical, right.  I feel for Clint Dempsey today.
