Troy Murphy, who was recently bought out by the Golden State Warriors, has chosen to sign with the Boston Celtics.
The Breakdown
It's unclear how big of a role Murphy will have in Boston. His best shot of seeing meaningful minutes is if he gets some run at center. With Glen "Big Baby" Davis seeing the bulk of the minutes at power forward/center and Jeff Green also getting time at both forward spots, there may not be much playing time for Troy. Right now, he's only worth consideration as a speculative pick up in deeper leagues.
Davis and Green owners will want to monitor how Murphy impacts the rotation. Green owners should be especially interested since Jeff's failed to play over 20 minutes in any game thus far for the Celtics. Having another player to contend with for minutes will likely make Green expendable in standard formats.
